Bring on the solids!

We decided that it was time to start this little guy on solids now that we have a place to sit him up to eat. He took to the rice cereal pretty well.
The peas, however, were not as well received...
My nephew, Noah, is my little shadow when Sam is around and loves to watch him eat...
Sam is loving getting to know his cousins, Noah and Sloane. It's been so fun being back around our families!

Good Bye, New York

I never thought this day would come. Yesterday, after Bill's graduation, we spent most of the day packing up. It's amazing how much we accumulated in such a small apartment. I guess having a baby will do that. Bill picked up the rental car and packed in as much as he could for the drive the today. This morning we woke up early, finished the packing and cleaning and sent Bill off.

Before Sam and I had to leave for the airport this afternoon, we went on one more walk over to Washington Square Park. This whole year, one half of the park, including the famous arch and fountain have been gated off for renovations. This is a picture through the fence. Wouldn't you know that it's scheduled to reopen this Monday. Just my luck!
Our friends, Stephanie and Joshua, were on the same flight as us so we tagged along with them to the airport. That is NOT a quick trip. First, the subway to Penn Station. Second, the LIRR to Jamaica Station. And third, the AirTrain to JFK. An hour and a half later, we boarded the plane only to sit on the runway for 2 hours due to traffic and bad weather. Finally we were off. Sam did pretty well. He had a few little outbursts, including when I had to change his diaper on the top of the toilet because there was no changing table. It was disgusting and I can't even think about it.
We landed an hour late, got picked up by my mom and brother, Dan and headed to my parents house. It's nice to be back in Utah, and I love seeing the mountains, but I still get a little teary when I think of our home for the last nine months. We really had a ball!

Onward and Upward!

He did it! Bill is an official graduate of NYU Law School. He has worked so hard this year and Sam and I are so proud! We love you!
From here, we hope to be heading up to Boise, ID for a job, but won't know for a couple of weeks. Whatever happens, we're ready for another adventure!

Busy, busy, busy

Since Bill finished his finals last Friday, we have been running all over the place doing everything for the first time or once more before we leave on Saturday. Here's a recap...
Saturday, Bill took Sam to the Brooklyn Transit Museum.
As you can see, it was very exciting!
Tuesday, we went to the Bronx Zoo...
and saw the Polar Bears...
and the Giraffes...
and a bunch of other neat animals (not pictured above!). Bill even convinced me to go into the Monkey House even though I am NOT a fan of primates!
Wednesday, we walked down to the Financial District
And finally, this morning we went with our friends, the Wilson's, up to The Cloister's in Harlem. The gardens were beautiful and the museum was very interesting.
This last week has been tiring, but so fun. I can't believe our time here has come to an end. It's been an amazing nine months and we will never forget them. We're very excited for what the future has in store for us, but grateful that we'll always have New York!

Celebrate!

This morning Bill took his last final forever! To celebrate, we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge to have pizza at Grimaldi's. It was a gorgeous day and the pizza was delicious.

After lunch, we walked down to the pier to the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory for a couple of cones. We have a whole week before graduation to relax, play tourist and pack.
On a sad note, today while Bill was taking his test, Sam and I were at our last playgroup with our NYC friends. Most of what I've seen of this city is thanks to this amazing group of ladies and their children that plan an outing every Friday morning. We have had a ball seeing all of the fun things New York City has to offer.
Last weekend, a bunch of us went out to Johnny Utah's for dinner and Del Frisco's for dessert for one last hurrah.

Five Months!

This little guy is five months old! When he was born, I remember thinking that he would be about five months when it was time for us to leave New York. It seemed like that would never happen, but here we are, looking at just two weeks left.
Look at that smile! He loved his first ride in a swing. He's sharing with his friend, Paige, at playgroup yesterday. He is growing like a weed and weighs well over 15 pounds and has long legs like both of his parents. He's going to be a tall drink of water!
