Quick trip

We spent a fun, but much too short, couple of days in Logan last weekend. We left at 5 am Saturday morning and made it there by 10 am. Almost the whole family was there and it was so great to get to catch up with everyone since we hadn't seen them for a while. Some over a year ago!
Sam loved meeting his new cousin, Andy for the first time and hanging out with Grandpa.

Bill's brother James and his family are moving to Kazakhstan for his new job, so we were so happy to get to see them one more time. Bill's sister, Melinda and her family couldn't make it because she just had their 4th baby and Sam's newest boy cousin. That makes 4, all within a year!
We were also excited to learn that my brother, Dan and his wife, Zibbey are expecting a boy in January! Keep 'em coming!

I often play this little game with myself when I remember that something significant in my life happened one year before. Today it was that exactly one year ago Bill and I put all of our belongings into storage, said goodbye to our families, drove to the airport with our one-way tickets in hand, and flew to New York City to begin a nine-month adventure. I think I'll never be able to understand how time goes by so fast. We will always cherish that experience!
Things are quite a bit different now than they were 365 days ago. I'm embarrassed to say that we haven't really seen that much of Boise since arriving here the first week of June. We've had some fun outings with my sisters though, and are slowly getting to know the area.
Two nights ago, Sam and I drove into downtown and met Bill for dinner after work. We found a yummy little pizza place and then walked around for a little bit.

This afternoon, Sam and I met my sister, Ann and her boys at Ann Morrison Park downtown and walked along the Greenbelt. It follows the Boise River through town and is gorgeous! We passed this Anne Frank Memorial...

Although there are days when I long to be back in Manhattan, I'm excited to explore our new city and make it our home. Here's to another year!

Sunny Sunday

It was a gorgeous afternoon today, so we took Sam outside for a little photo shoot after church. The weather was really nice and mild this weekend and made me so excited for fall.
Sam just keeps getting bigger and cuter! He's right on the verge of crawling and it's so fun to see him figure out how to get from sitting to on his hands and knees and rock back and forth. It won't be long before I'm chasing him down!
Looking very suspicious
He loves when his daddy throws him high in the air!
